The Mitchell camera was lying on the ground with no proper care. Upset with this attitude of the organizers I told them to take care of such valuable equipments. The values have to be stored properly advised Murthy.

It is in 1943 the SJP institute started and I passed out in the first batch in 1946 and went straight to Mumbai. It is at this time the directors and cameramen were not aware of the theory part of cinematography.

VK Murthy goes 65 years ago and remembers the name of Taansen who asked what this ‘35 is and 40’ written on the camera. Another top director of those days Jayanth Desai inquired about the left and right. I wondered how the director asks me. I realized how theory very important. The batch that went to Bombay was not allowed to go. They told us write the exam and come here for work.

On his non availability to Kannada cinema VK Murthy asked straight who called me except SV Rajendra Singh Babu. I worked for ‘Hoovu Hannu’ in Kannada but my ground with Gurudut was unforgettable. With Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalani – films and television was long standing remembers VK Murthy. Thamas, Bharat Ek Khoj and others were the television serials I wielded the camera says the legendary cameraman from Mysore.

Murthy the Dada in camera also Dada Saheb Phalke award winner recalled setting up of cultural association in 1945. In the first program I played violin and in school days I was in plays. Had anyone paid enough money for directing the play I would have been a director of plays he smiles.
